There are a lot of reviews on this product, but I had to add mine. After lightning struck a tree next to our house, our neighbors suffered several appliance failures, including a blown TV. Ours, including our computer survived (plugged into one of these). More amazingly, the outlet this was plugged into blew out of the wall, frying the protector, the TV lost its color for 3 days, but then popped back in and we are still using it. Our electrician says, he's never seen anything like it, but he's recommending this surge protector now.

 I wanted something cheap that would allow me to plug in multiple electronics so in this respect Belkin has done Okay. The price is great and it's easy to use. Some people complained about the On/Off switch where the cable runs out of and I didn't find that annoying or difficult to find, though I've had many other power strips with On/Off switches. I find that feature useful (when going out of town, I just switch it off instead of unplugging it). Others have said that the outlets are too close together and that's my one complaint about htis product as well. They are closer together than I thought which makes plugging in and taking out difficult or very limited if you have anything bigger than a standard two or three-prong plug.
Unless I find something cheaper or near the same price with more space, I would buy this again.

This is a decent power strip that does what it advertises and is pretty no-frills. If you want your stuff to be powered and surge protected, this will do that for you.

Some other reviewers and commenters have, however, mentioned a manufacturing defect where the ground (third prong) socket is blocked by a piece of metal, making plugs difficult to insert. Mine also had this problem. I get the impression that this is shoddy workmanship, and that's NOT a plus. You can often force plugs in, but you shouldn't have to do that. Tripp Lite is a good company, and they should improve their manufacturing process to fix this defect.

Your experience with this strip will really depend on how many (if any) outlets are affected by this problem. Mine has one bad outlet that I had to force a plug into. That outlet generally worked well after a few times that I had to put some sweat into it.

So, good--but not great given that I don't think the manufacturing is exceptional.
